ATSHA204A-SSHDA-T SHA-256 Hardware Crypto Authentication IC SOT-23
This page is written as a technical article rather than a full product datasheet. Use the associated component page and current manufacturer documentation for final component verification.
The chip integrates hardware protected key storage with up to 16 sets of 256-bit keys. It contains 4.5Kbit EEPROM for secure storage of keys and user-defined data, alongside 512 bits OTP memory for permanent immutable information. Every individual device carries a unique 72-bit serial number, paired with an internal true random number generator for cryptographic nonce generation.
It supports I2C and single-wire communication interfaces, with supply voltage ranging from 2.0V to 5.5V. The sleep current is below 150nA, well suited for battery-powered low-power IoT hardware. It offloads crypto computation tasks from the main MCU, lowering the software development burden of system security without complex cryptography programming.
Common applications include peripheral accessory authentication, consumable anti-cloning, secure boot verification, encrypted key exchange and firmware anti-piracy. The operating temperature range is -40℃ to +85℃, supplied in tape and reel packaging for mass SMT assembly. It delivers a cost-efficient security solution for space-constrained embedded product designs.
