ATSHA204A-STUCZ-T SHA-256 Hardware Crypto Authentication IC SOT-23-3
This page is written as a technical article rather than a full product datasheet. Use the associated component page and current manufacturer documentation for final component verification.
It integrates hardware protected key storage supporting up to 16 groups of 256-bit keys. The chip contains 4.5Kbit EEPROM for secure storage of keys and user-defined data, plus 512 bits OTP memory for permanent fixed information. Every single device carries a unique 72-bit serial number, equipped with internal true random number generator to generate cryptographic nonce for authentication sessions.
This version features single-wire communication interface to minimize pin usage, reducing host circuit layout complexity. Supply voltage ranges from 2.0V to 5.5V, with sleep current below 150nA, well suited for battery-powered portable IoT hardware. It offloads SHA cryptographic operations from main microcontroller, lowering software development workload and eliminating the need for complex cryptography programming.
Typical applications include accessory authentication, consumable anti-cloning, secure boot verification, encrypted session key exchange and firmware anti-piracy. Operating temperature range is -40℃ to +85℃, MSL 1 moisture sensitivity level, shipped in tape and reel for mass SMT assembly. It is an economical security option for ultra space-limited embedded product designs.
